Just to let you know, pictures of the house came back the day before they put the photos up on Wakefield Reutlinger Realtors website, on Tuesday, September 5. The house looks amazing. We have heard great compliments about how the house is so well put together and will show beautifully during the open house on Sunday, September 10, and at all other appointments we have scheduled. Again, I thank you and Karen for all your expertise in staging our home to perfection. I look forward to working with you and your team, when we move into our new home. It has been a pleasure working with and learning from both of you!
Lyn Mabry is an excellent stager as well as designer. I have used her for almost two years to help get my listings market ready. I was so impressed with her work ethic and talent that I asked her to help me with my personal home. I wanted a fresh new look without having to buy all new furniture. Lyn is very respectful of her client’s budget and time and helped me select fabrics to reupholster my existing furniture and a color scheme to achieve my vision. Lyn is very thoughtful in her approach to any size project by considering all aspects of the home to ensure a cohesive look. Lyn listens to her client’s needs and desires and digs deeper to have a true understanding of what the client is really trying to achieve. From selecting new paint colors, rearranging a room or assisting in a total remodel, Lyn Mabry is your person!
I found Lyn via an article on the best interior designers in Louisville. I looked at all the other designers mentioned in the article and Lyn stood out as a designer who wants to work alongside her clients to help them create a living space that is beautiful and truly meets their needs. I engaged Lyn to transform a condo I bought and she lived up to and exceeded my expectations as a designer. This was not an easy project for her as I live in London UK so much of our work together had to be done via Skype. She rose to the challenge and made excellent suggestions – I trusted her so much that I felt comfortable saying – Lyn, just do what you think will work – and the results always did work! I highly recommend Lyn – she is a lovely person to work with & has an excellent eye for exceptional interior design.
I am in Panama City Beach enjoying my condominium, which Lyn redecorated this past spring. I had a limited budget and needed a total update, so Lyn traveled with me to PCB to work on the condo. Lyn kept an eye on the budget while selecting wonderful furniture and art, some from consignment stores. The new linens in the bedrooms along with art and lamps created a new look without having to replace the bedroom suites. The living room has an open, clean look with very comfortable furniture. The colors are beautiful and peaceful. My business partner says this is the best the condo has ever looked!
I contacted Lyn because I wanted assistance with a whole house renovation for a one story home that was built in the mid 1970s. The home had not really been updated since it was built. Lyn assisted me in selecting curtain fabric for my dining room, blind selection for my dining room, paint color for the master bedroom, and carpet for the master bedroom. We also discussed ideas for other parts of our whole house renovation.
It went very well. Lyn listened to what I wanted to do and gave me some good ideas to think about. What I like is that she is sensitive to the fact that this is your home and it should reflect your tastes and how you live in your home. She put me in touch with good vendors for the carpet, blinds, and dining room draperies. Lyn also pays attention to your budget concerns.
I will be working with Lyn next on our kitchen and family room, which will involve a total renovation of the kitchen and some renovation of the existing family room.
Lyn made three visits to the home. The initial walk through with me (the realtor) to formulate a staging plan, a second visit to sit with my sellers to review her plan (which they loved), and a third visit with her assistant to stage the home. Our sellers were thrilled with the results as was I. Lyn is a leader in her field and indispensable to me as a Realtor. Her vision as she walks through a home is amazing and the end result is always even more than I hoped it would be. My clients love her and I can’t do my job without her!!
My wife and I moved into a house built in 1910 recently. We had also inherited a collection of artwork. We wanted help from someone who would assist us in choosing wall colors, new upholstery, and deciding what to put where in a way that would make the most of the beauty of our house and show off our art. Being new to the area, we also needed recommendations of good contractors. We had not employed a decorator before, but we thought that that the right person could help us make our new house look its best. We met Lyn when she came by to pick up the sign she had left in front of the house after staging it for sale for the previous owner. I cannot say that we bought the house because of the staging, but it was, well, attractive. I believe that she assisted the previous owner in some tasteful remodeling. Lyn shared her brochure with us and we found her approach attractive. It emphasized the importance to her of understanding her clients own taste and helping them express it fully. We have found that she does what she says. We appreciate Lyn’s methodical approach, which minimizes making decisions that do not work out later. We also appreciate her understanding and application of principles of color and design, and the contacts she has provided for people who do good work.
Lyn visited out home to give us ideas on how to make our interior more beautiful. She first put us at ease and quickly set about sharing what she was seeing in our home that did and didn’t work from a design standpoint. We all had fun as we worked through each room. She reconfigured our collection of stuff on the fireplace mantle leaving it beautiful, balanced and less cluttered. We’re now in the process of working through her suggestions.
I am a realtor, and have had Lyn stage several homes. Her eye for setting a home up, so that it is optimally appealing to buyers, is wonderful. Her staging also makes the house photograph wonderfully for the internet and marketing materials. Bottom line: When Lyn stages a house, it sells faster!
Living Spaces by Lyn was a wonderful group to work with when I was preparing my home to place on the market. Lyn and her associates helped me with paint colors, carpet, and staging my home for photography and resale. I feel Lyn had a good perspective on what my priorities should be as far as what updates should be done to my home to increase it’s value while staying within my budget. She has a great eye for furniture placement to visually increase the size of a space, while keeping in mind how a room will photograph. I highly recommend Lyn and her team!
“Lyn has now managed three projects for me and there’s a reason I keep going back to her. She exceeds my expectations in every way. I think I have good taste, but Lyn has the ability to see things I never could. She can envision colors, designs, and accents that are far beyond the ordinary. She takes a project from good to GREAT, every time. She is also knowledge, accessible, practical and a joy to work with.”
“Lyn has a natural talent of assessing living spaces and articulating functionality with design! She was able to understand my personal style and suggest areas of improvement. Definitely will be using her services in the future!”
Work by Living Spaces by Lyn for a client at her 100 plus year old farmhouse in Oldham Co, KY.
“Thank you so very much for sharing your talents with me! It is amazing to see the difference you make by skillfully moving things around. You do this so well!”
“I moved into the home of my dreams—lots of light and high ceilings. Having known Lyn for decades, I asked her to come over and help me with my decorating. I turned over all my artwork and travel memorabilia, which had been collected over my lifetime, and just asked her to “arrange it.” I particularly was stumped by the hall powder room; everything I attempted looked too contrived. Lyn suggested that she hang my entire collection of Russian artifacts and paintings. She had several pictures reframed and intermixed the pictures with sconces holding the artifacts. It’s a Wow! Also she selected most of the colors for the different rooms as I had some favorites I wanted to use again. Everyone has commented on the colors, the arrangements on the shelves, and the art on the walls. Then they pay Lyn the biggest compliment; they ask, “Did you do this all by yourself?” The last thing I wanted my home to reflect was the skill of a decorator. I wanted my personality to be revealed in my home decor and Lyn achieved that. Yes, I do confess and give her the credit.”
“I have known Lyn Mabry for 20 years and have used her services at each house I’ve lived, including Turkey! Lyn came for a visit, and we spent the first few days placing furniture and hanging art and the rest of her visit buying carpets for our apartment. How often does your designer travel overseas to help make your place feel like home? As our lives and locations have changed, so have our tastes in furniture, in style and in color. Lyn understands right where we are in the moment and helps us center our current interests. Since returning to Louisville and purchasing our condo from Lyn, she has helped us choose all new lighting, paint every room, update the kitchen and hallway, and we are currently undergoing a major renovation of a large bathroom. Her abilities to see it all so clearly still amaze me after 20 years. Besides being able to understand her clients’ vision, she stays within budget, communicates promptly and brings the dip for the celebration afterward. She’s a true gem.”
“Lyn provided wonderful design ideas for my bathroom and kitchen renovations and helped make the final beautiful rooms a reality! She has an incredible vision of what would look good yet also listens to what I like so it all merges in just the right way. I couldn’t be happier with the results! I would definitely work with Lyn on any other project in the future.”
